The United States Postal Service issued the Apollo–Soyuz commemorative stamps, honoring the United States–Soviet link up in space, on 15 July 1975, the day of the launch. The United States spent US$245 million (equal to $1,470,000,000 today) on the Apollo–Soyuz project and spacecraft. The amount of money the Soviet Union spent on the ASTP is unknown but reportedly constituted a "significant portion."
